In 2019, for the first time there will be a women’s Gravel and Tar cycling race to accompany the men’s event.

Like the men’s event it will comprise five gravel sectors making up approximately 40km and another 60km on the tarmac.

Prizemoney will also be equal with the men’s race, and the event is expected to attract the top Australian and New Zealand women’s teams to compete. The women’s event will be unique, not just because of the equal prize purse, but because it will be one of the hardest races on the international women’s cycling calendar.
